Place your fingertips on the keys that are colored yellow (see image). This finger placement is the fundamental position for touch typing, from which it is possible to press all the other keys.
A few tips for efficient and correct use of the program.
- In order to maximize your success, do not glance at the keyboard during the exercise rather look only at the screen.
- The fundamental position can easily be found without looking at the keyboard - there are bumps on the letters 'F' and 'J' (at the bottom of the key).
- For your convenience, the program allows practicing with a meaningless sequence of letters. Nonetheless, it is important to note that practicing with a comprehensible text is imperative for efficient learning and exercise.
- You may use the typing speed measuring function - a tool that enables you to assess the improvement in your typing time throughout the learning process. The number of words per minute indicates your typing level.
- The site incorporates typing games for enhancement and for improving your typing speed.
